Alena Krejčí research recognised by the British Biochemical Society’s ‘Early Career Research Award Medal

Alena Krejčí’s (group leader within the Department of Molecular Biology, Faculty of Science, University of South Bohemia) work on uncovering the molecular mechanisms of the Notch-mediated cell-signalling pathway has been recognised by the British Biochemical Society. Her contribution (including papers published in prestige journals such Genes and Development, Developmental Cell and Development) was singled out by the ‘Genes’ theme judging panel of the society as providing an outstanding contribution to the field from a researcher in the early phase of their career.

Alena received the Early Career Research Award Medal (2011) at a special conference to celebrate the British Biochemical Society’s centenary year hosted at the headquarters of the Royal Society in London in December. She also presented a summary of her work to date at the conference and will also publish a review article in Biochemical Society Transactions in early 2012.
