Since 1.9. 2005: Ph.D. student at the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Sciences, University of South Bohemia. The topic of my thesis was the description of the salivary transcripts from the tick Ixodes ricinus and the characterization of salivary serine protese inhibitors.

1997: Finished high school, Gymnasium in Český Brod
1997 – 2001: Undergraduate studies in biology at the Faculty of Sciences, University of South Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic. Specialization in the phylogenetics of parasites. Finished with Bc. degree in biology in February 2002.
2003 – 2005: M.Sc. studies in parasitology at the Faculty of Sciences, University of South Bohemia, Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic. Specialization in the molecular biology and proteomics of ticks. Finished with Mgr. (M.Sc. equivalent) degree in parasitology.
2008: Succesful defense of RNDr. thesis on the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Sciences of the University of South Bohemia with thesis „An Insight into the sialome of the castor bean tick, Ixodes ricinus“.
June 2005: Summer school on molecular vector biology, České Budějovice
30.09. – 01.11. 2006: Research visit in the Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research, Vector Molecular Biology Unit ( the lab of Dr. Jesus G. Valenzuela, National Institute of Allergy and Infections Disease, Rockville, Maryland, U.S.A.); High-throughput approach to study of Ixodes ricinus salivary glands. Training in cDNA library construction, high-throughput approach in transcriptomics.
29.02. – 12.04. 2008: Research visit in the Laboratory of Malaria and Vector Research, Vector Biology Unit (the laboratory of Dr. J.M.C. Ribeiro, NIH/NIAID). Training in the preparation of recombinant serpins and their biochemical characterization
